Tailoring banking to the needs of our markets.

A credit union dedicated to Firefighters was the idea of founder, Bob Hall. It was 1968, and everyone was having a tough time getting finance, but Bob’s vision would make life a little easier for his community.
The plan was to create an institution that would put profits back to work for members to reduce loan interest rates and increase interest paid on investment. What began as Fire Board (NSW) Employees Credit Union in the gymnasium at the Sydney Fire Brigade Headquarters has grown into Firefighters Mutual Bank with thousands of members Australia wide from the fire and emergency services sectors.
A part of Teachers Mutual Bank Limited, we’ve been recognised as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies* for the sixth year in a row.
