Social Impact Report 2024 on the CUFA Children’s Financial Literacy (CFL) program in Cambodia
43,777 children, 1,070 teachers, 132 schools, 7,443 lessons
The CUFA CFL program has been active in Cambodia since 2008, and TMBL has provided funding since 2016. TMBL’s support enables CUFA to leverage major funding from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
The CFL program aims to increase the financial literacy of children aged 6-11 years old, to encourage critical saving habits, educate students on financial services, help children set up their savings accounts in community-owned banks, and to ensure that the impact of this education is lifelong and makes a meaningful difference to community life.
Social impact results from eight years funding of the Cufa Children’s Financial Literacy program include:
● 43,777 children have received financial literacy training
● 23,773 children have started saving
● 111 teacher training workshops conducted
● 1,070 teachers have received training
● 7,443 financial literacy lessons delivered in 132 schools
● 3,081 home visits conducted, reaching 7,421 people
