Teachers Mutual Bank Limited announces appointment of Chief Customer Officer

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited today announced the appointment of Greg Johnson as Chief Customer Officer effective from 2 September 2024.

Greg brings more than 25 years’ experience across the financial services industry within the banking, wealth, and insurance sectors. He’s held various senior roles in major banks, non-bank lenders, and digital start-ups.

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited’s CEO, Anthony Hughes, said he was pleased to have Greg join the team and bring his deep experience into the customer owned bank.

“Greg is a strong leader with a sound record in delivering great customer outcomes and driving business growth.

“His experience in the design and execution of strategic growth programs, product strategy, and digital development will be invaluable to our bank as we embark on an ambitious program of work to grow our bank and continue to deliver outstanding customer service,” Anthony said.

On his appointment, Greg said he was “passionate about the role banking plays in people’s lives, whether that’s helping people buy a home or save for something special or their retirement.

“I have spent my entire career in financial services, and I’m delighted to be joining one of Australia’s largest customer owned banks, where the customer is genuinely at the centre of everything we do. 

“I’m energised by this opportunity and look forward to delivering banking services that our customers need today and will want in the future.”

Greg’s previous roles include Global head of Product, Strategy and Marketing at Bravura, General Manger Business Growth / Group Strategy at Challenger, Director Insurance Proposition at AMP, Head of Product at Aussie Group, and Executive Manager – Savings and Investments at Commonwealth Bank. 

Greg holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, and Bachelors of Commerce and Computer Science from the University of Sydney.
